<p>Many people have stated that leaders and managers should be one and the same, however this clearly is not the case in many businesses. In an ideal world all managers would be leaders and all leaders would be managers, unfortunately we are faced with the reality of many leaders letting management skills and many managers lacking leadership skills. What we need to do is perhaps seek a middle-of-the-road solution whereupon we can instill the desired traits into the relevant people. This can be done via a suitably designed management training programme, which encourages leadership skills and qualities.</p>
<p>Management training has often been underestimated, which leads to a lack of suitably skilled and or qualified personnel to lead an organization terms of the desired strategies and overall objectives and goals. One could therefore deduce that this underestimation of management training can seriously the business as a whole, specifically with regard&#8217;s to the strategies that are not implemented correctly.</p>
<p>Management training can be conducted in a variety of means and via a wide selection of service providers. This is naturally all relative to price and budget, what many business owners fail to realise is that this very management training can be conducted primarily on an in-house basis. This will allow the business owner or senior executive to establish a firm foundation with the earmarked potential manager in terms of that specific business&#8217; requirements.</p>
<p>Should the company be seeking to establish an alternative strategic direction, the most logical step would be to seek outsourced training in line with the desired strategies to be implemented. This is often the case when companies seek to implement strategies and practices that are not very well known within the areas of operation. It would be foolish to consider a management decision to be implemented effectively by an individual who lacks both experience and training in line with the desired outcome of the company.</p>

<p>One of the best is something I&#8217;ve put into practice that comes from the role of manager. Whether it&#8217;s filling a position, restructuring your marketing strategy, revising product offerings or reimagining your blog postings there is one primary thing that is as profound as it is simple &#8211; do the best you can with what you have.</p>
<p>OK, I know this sounds like something you might hear Andy Taylor say to his son Opie on the Andy Griffith Show, but think about it for a minute. It is possible to reshift priorities based on what resources and tools you have available. In some cases there may be marketing tools that no longer make sense due to the economy. It could be that certain products make better sense than others. Perhaps the tone of your marketing practices needs to emphasize product quality over image cool.</p>

<p>The National Small Business Association (NSBA) says 55 percent of the small business owners it polled in February had been affected by the credit crisis and that number has now increased to 67 percent. The three biggest concerns in this survey were general economic uncertainty, rising energy costs, and the rising cost of health care.</p>
<p>Now more than ever I believe entrepreneurs and small business owners need to be pro active and embrace a new level of preparation, compliance checks, and business credit preparation in order to stay ahead of the game.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s my &#8216;Top 10 Business Credit Strategies for Entrepreneurs&#8217;</p>
<p><strong>Strategy #1:</strong></p>
<p>Establish a well written business plan</p>
<p>When it comes to bank financing a business plan that supports a loan request provide a greater chance for funding.</p>

<p>Incorporate your business</p>
<p>Treat your business like a business and avoid being a sole proprietorship.</p>

In all honesty, all you need is a video recording device, like a camcorder or a webcam, and a movie editing software program, which now comes standard with most computers. Once you have your video on your computer and edited, if you wish to do so, you will just need to follow YouTube&#8217;s step-by-step uploading instructions and then your video should be ready for sharing, in as little as a few minutes. </p>
<p>Another pro to using YouTube to share your own videos with other internet users is uses. Although a large number of internet users use YouTube videos for fun or for personal reasons, there are many others who use them for business or at least to up their exposure. You need to remember that millions of internet users watch videos on YouTube. While your YouTube video will be unlikely to get one million views, you could get quite a bit. Whether you are advertising your services, like as a website designer or a real estate agent, you can do so through YouTube. The only thing that you will want to do is try to not take the spam approach. If you are advertising yourself as a website designer, try taking a few videos of you making a website or use your video to explore websites that you have made. Simply adding your business information at the end of the video is a great way to get your point across, but without making your YouTube video seem as it is an advertisement.</p>

Fortunately, there are three easy steps to ensure that customers should be pleased with the changes your small business might make to its product and service offerings:</p>
<p>1. Use customer surveys to determine preferences Simple as it may seem, customer surveys can prevent the launch of new products and services for which there is little customer demand. As an added bonus, you will quickly learn what other features customers would like to see, and if there are others you can leave out. Even if you have to make tradeoffs in creating a new product/service (or altering an existing offering), your customers can help ensure that the changes which are made, are the ones that are most pleasing to them.</p>
<p>2. </p>
<p>Provide trial samples (whenever possible) to get feedback In many cases, it is possible to provide a demonstration to allow customers a preview of what the new product or service is. If the trial or prototype is highly successful, then a full-scale roll-out can be offered. If it is only partially successful, then the new products/services might be offered in tandem with some or all of the older products/services. Finally, if the trial of the new offering is a complete flop, then at least no production expenses have been incurred. Customer feedback can help identify what went wrong, so that you are better prepared for making future offerings.</p>
<p>3. Use feedback to build demand for new products/services Positive feedback on samples or prototypes of new products and services should almost always link to the next stage of the purchasing cycle. </p>
<p>Is the customer ready to submit an order for more of the product/service they liked? If not, what changes still need to be made? These can be tough questions to ask, yet they can be the difference between making the sale to a new customer, or simply exchanging pleasantries with another prospect. Noticing common qualities of new buyers can then lead to identifying entirely new customer segments, and even markets.</p>
<p>Thus, by using customer surveys to figure out what customers want, letting them try a demo version of your product/service, and finally, using that feedback, your small business can flourish, even when altering existing products and services. This is critically important during rough economic times, but can also be beneficial when the economy recovers.</p>

This is the kind of question that advertisers and researchers at MIT and IBM are dying to know the answer to, according to Stephen Baker, in the June 1, 2009 article in , &#8220;What&#8217;s A Friend Worth.&#8221;</p>
<p>Jeffrey Rayport, formerly of Harvard Business School, reports in an article in  May 18, 2009, &#8220;The Shift To A Social Web,&#8221; that a shift is underway that is ushering in the next stage in the battle for influence on the Web, which involves companies such as Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, and AOL and others. This battle will change the way we use the Internet and how advertising is used. Rayport sees the capability of people taking their social identity from site to site, which means Web companies are no longer in the business building &#8220;destination sites,&#8221;, but rather, social networking players are racing to extend their influence over the entire Web by exporting their social features to all sites.  We may even see Google&#8217;s cited mission &#8220;to organize the world&#8217;s information&#8221; change to &#8220;organize the world&#8217;s people.&#8221;</p>
<p>Friendships have changed drastically, particularly among Gen X&#8217;ers and Gen Y&#8217;ers, because of the technological tools of social networking sites. The really successful networkers combine face-to-face relationships with the online connections such as Facebook and LinkedIn, to keep the network of friends and business connections alive.</p>
<p>          ]]&gt;</p>
<p>Many companies now are realizing the goldmine of marketing and promotion that exists and are using social networking to their advantage, which may in turn sound the eventual death knell for traditional advertising. Other companies, such as Hewlett-Packard and IBM are examining employee relationships inside the companies with the intent to improve communication and knowledge.</p>
<p>A third area of social networking&#8211;of personal opportunity&#8211;is an important development. Entrepreneurs and recruiters and career managers realize the power of social networking, using it to create business opportunities and recruit talent.</p>
<p>In essence, we are witnessing a great social and technological experiment in which millions of people around the globe are working and socializing in oceans of data. And advertisers are now realizing they can understand better people&#8217;s attitudes, preferences and psychology by studying social networking sites.</p>
<p>Of course this massive amount of information produced by social networking sites is not all good, and much of it can be inaccurate, irrelevant or just plain boring. So the issue of information literacy rises to the fore&#8211;the ability of people to access, assess and use information wisely from the Internet, including social networking sites in an intelligent manner.</p>
<p>So where do we get the best information?  From our friends, maybe the only trusted source? Friendship data promise insights into not only the marketplace but also the corporation itself. Researchers now can trace the hidden networks, identifying both the people who transmit valuable information and those who may actually block it, and how people can bypass them.  Some companies now study their internal networks, and actually suggest friends to employees, much the same as a networker might arrange a personal luncheon between two strangers for mutual benefit.</p>
<p>For managers and executives who have launched themselves into using social networks for business purposes, the challenge becomes how to interpret friendship data and how to manage these networks and fit them into employee careers.</p>
<p>There is no question that the value in online friendships for both businesses and individuals alike is poised to grow and be used for purposes beyond what we can now imagine.</p>
